Letter from the Principal

Mariela Graham is the principal of the HS of Arts and Technology. Prior to coming to Arts & Tech, Ms. Graham was the founding principal of the Urban Assembly School for Criminal Justice, an all-girls’, grades 6-12 public school in Brooklyn. There have been four graduating classes at UASCJ all of which reached at least a 90% graduation rate. In October 2017, UASCJ was featured in the NY Daily News as one of the top fifty high schools in New York City. Ms. Graham began her teaching career as a middle school bilingual Social Studies teacher in Washington Heights.

Ms. Graham holds a BA from Duke University and advanced degrees from the City College of New York and Teachers College. She was born in Lima, Peru and raised in New Rochelle. She currently lives in Inwood with her husband and three children.
